Brother P-touch CUBE Plus PT-P710BT review
The CUBE Plus is the label maker for people who would rather design on a phone than type on a tiny keyboard. It prints laminated TZe labels up to 24 mm wide, twice the width of most home machines, so bin labels can be read from across a room.

- Prints on
- Brother TZe laminated tape up to 24 mm (about 1 inch), including premium glitter and matte tapes.
- Cost per label
- About 14¢ to 21¢ per label on 12 mm TZe and 21¢ to 31¢ on 24 mm.

Designing on a phone changes what you label
Designing on a phone changes what you bother to label. Icons, two fonts on one label, a numbered run of storage boxes, a QR code on a shelf: in the app they take seconds, and on a seven-key keypad they never happen.
The 24 mm width is the other reason to buy it. Wide labels with big text are what make a garage, a craft room or a classroom easy to navigate, and the CUBE Plus also takes every narrower TZe cassette down to 3.5 mm.
Because it uses the same TZe tape as Brother's keyboard machines, a house can run both on one supply of cassettes.
Twenty-four garage bins, worked out
Twenty-four storage bins with 4-inch labels on 24 mm tape use about 4.75 inches each with the leader, roughly 9.5 feet in total. That is about 36% of one 26.2-foot cassette, or $7 to $11 of tape at typical prices.

- Garages and sheds where labels must be readable from a distance.
Tape spend over a year
You pay for the machine once. The tape is what you keep buying.
| How you use it | Labels | Labels a year | Spend a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light home use | 10 a month | 120 | $17 to $25 |

| Small office | 60 a month | 720 | $101 to $151 |
Where the CUBE Plus frustrates people
- No keyboard means no quick one-off labels without your phone
- Keep it next to the charging spot, or pair it with a keyboard machine for the pantry.
- Apps change over time
- Use Brother's own apps, keep them updated, and check that the current Design&Print app supports your phone before you buy.
- 24 mm tape costs more per label
- Use 12 mm for jars and folders and save 24 mm for bins and shelves.
Tapes to buy with it
The printer comes with two starter tapes. Add a 12 mm black-on-white TZe for everyday labels and a 24 mm cassette for bins.
What ships with it
- The CUBE Plus printer with a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery
- A 24 mm black-on-white starter tape (13.1 ft) and a 24 mm glitter gold starter tape (6.5 ft), per the listing
- A USB cable for charging and for printing from a computer
Setting it up
- Charge it over USB.
- Install Brother P-touch Design&Print 2 (or iPrint&Label) and pair over Bluetooth from the app.
- Pick a template, edit the text, print. Numbered runs and barcodes are set up in the app.
- On a computer, use P-touch Editor over the USB cable for longer jobs.
Will it suit you?
Good fit if you label in batches and want fonts and icons from an app.
Poor fit if you only print one label at a time; a keyboard model is faster for that.
Brother P-touch CUBE Plus PT-P710BT or Brother P-touch PT-D610BT?
The PT-D610BT does everything the CUBE Plus does and adds a full keyboard and colour screen, for roughly five times the money. For a home, the CUBE Plus is the better buy. For an office where several people print, the D610BT's keyboard earns its price.
