Brother PT-E720BT industrial label printer review

The PT-E720BT is Brother's industrial Bluetooth labeller for electricians and installers. The Pro Label Tool app is built around layouts for panels and patch fields as well as cable runs, and database printing cuts typing errors across a whole job.

Printing a whole panel from a spreadsheet

Database printing is the feature that pays for it: import the panel schedule once and print every label without retyping.

Laminated labels up to about an inch wide hold up in industrial environments, and optional accessories let you hang it from a belt, ladder or rack.

On a PC it works with P-touch Editor for office-side preparation.

A panel schedule, worked out

A 42-circuit panel means 42 labels. Import the circuit list once and print the run; nothing is retyped, so a transposed circuit number cannot creep in between the schedule and the panel.

Trades it suits

  • Electricians labelling panels and circuits.
  • Data and AV installers labelling patch panels and cable runs.
  • Facilities teams who print from a spreadsheet of assets.
