Questions this page answers

Will labels survive water and freezers, or the dishwasher?

Laminated tape like Brother TZe holds up to spills and handling. Thermal paper labels fade with heat and light over time.

Our pick for this: Brother P-touch PT-D220Fix: Brother TZe-S231 extra-strength tape

What about wire wraps and heat-shrink labels?

Use an industrial printer and check its cassette list for wire-wrap and heat-shrink stock before buying. Desktop office models such as the PT-D610BT do not print heat-shrink tube.

Before you pick one

Why it disappeared

Brady stopped making the BMP21-PLUS and now sells the M210 in that slot. Older lists and forum threads still recommend the BMP21-PLUS, and Amazon searches for it now return cartridges and resellers.

If you already own one

Keep using it while cartridges are easy to find. When you replace it, check that the new machine takes the label materials your jobs need.

Brady or Brother

Stay with Brady if your company buys Brady supplies. Choose the PT-E720BT if you want an app with database printing, and laminated labels up to about an inch wide.
